SHAADS® Covers are a family-owned business founded by creator Chris Koenitz. The idea for my New Jersey made, interior Skylight cover came from a desire to make a product that could be installed easily and in a short period of time, in minutes. I needed to cover the skylights in my home from the harmful, damaging and brutal sun's UV rays and that excessive heat for my show dogs and family. Having both knees replaced, I did not want to spend hours on a ladder to install a complicated skylight cover with many parts. I first tried covering the skylight with a roll out product but it just didn't work or look that great.

Even raising the air conditioning in trying to cool the room down was not working to my satisfaction. The sun rays were coming in with heat and harmful to my family, pets and furniture. Additionally, the cost to run the AC longer and at colder temperatures got more expensive.
So came the idea of the SHAADS® covers.
As a passionate problem solver I created a revolutionary way to install Skylight Covers with "only 4 custom brackets". This innovation slashes installation time from hours to mere minutes, all while keeping the consumer's needs front and center. I understand that not everyone is a builder, so I designed these covers to be super easy to install and remove in just 30 so seconds for cleaning! With a focus on quality materials, my products bring elegance and value to your spaces. Evolving Product Line
The next problem integral in this concept I faced were mounting my covers on doors, basement glass and windows. They were not installed in the same way as skylight SHAADS® Covers. Wanting to keep this very unique product different from the way you installed the old staples and give you a unique stylish custom look. I designed a patent custom plate allowing a new way to install vertically hanging SHAADS® Covers. I also designed several other new simple attachment ways that will add the no need for power tools to install or large screws harming your doors and window frames and keeping it easy for those who feel that they are not handy. We now offer New Jersey made SHAADS® high-end door, basement and window glass interior coverings to customers nationwide. We have a full array of affordable window treatments for skylight, doors and windows with the same ease of installing. We now proudly offer high-end SHAADS® coverings made in New Jersey, providing affordable glass interior treatments for skylights, doors, and windows with the similar effortless installation.

Before SHAADS®, my journey was nothing short of exciting! As a young real estate entrepreneur, I dove headfirst into the world of realty and construction. I often heard fellow realtor sand home sellers venting their frustrations about finding the perfect door or side glass curtains. Wanting to change the color of a room after just installing a skylight cover, at a hefty cost, only to discover the colors didn’t match. With years of experience in real estate and construction, I’ve had my skills in problem-solving and understanding consumer needs. My passion for show dogs and my new knees inspired me to create these fantastic problem-solving covers, saving people money and time by simplifying installation and gaining quality in my products.
